About The Institute

The Government of India established Model Industrial Training Institute at Jodhpur (Rajasthan) with the objective to develop the restructured pattern of training in HEAT ENGINE group of trades with the recommendation of CSTARI, Calcutta. The first year Basic Training started in the year 1982– 83 and second year Modular Training in the consequent year 1983–84. Restructured Pattern of Training In Conventional Training Scheme (Training Pattern of I.T.I’s), the training has been imparting in only one particular trade. But for present-day industries has a need of multi-skill workers in the area of more than one skill area to perform any given job satisfactorily. Some times more than one tradesman are required to complete a job i.e. for repair a Generator Sets requires a Diesel Mech. & Electrician etc. Training Programme at this Institute Training on restructured pattern in the Heat Engine group of trades is being imparting in this institute. (A) Broad Based Basic Training The first year Basic Training Programme consists of practical training and related theory in the following eight skill areas by uniform rotation for a period of six weeks in each area. (1) Petrol Engines (2) Diesel Engines (3)Transmission System (4) Suspension, Steering & Brakes (5) Basic Fitting (6) Measurement (7) Basic Electricity (8) Sheet Metal, Hand Forging & Welding In addition to the training in theory and practice in the above eight skills areas, W/shop Calculation Science, Engineering Drawing and Social Studies are also taught to the trainees during the first year basic training. (B) Modular Training During the second year modular training, the trainees can opt for one groups for specilisation either Diesel group or Auto group. Training in the following modules groups is being imparted for a period of one year at this institute. 1. Diesel Group: Diesel group consists of the following two modules of six months each (a) Servicing and Overhauling of Diesel Engines. (S.O.D.E) (b) Servicing and Maintenance of Diesel Generating Sets. (S.M.D.G.S) 2. Auto Group: Auto group consists of the following two modules of six months each. (a) Servicing and Overhauling of Automobile Engines. (S.O.A.E) (b) Auto Electrician (A.E)
